I'm struggling with that one right now...I'm past the guilty thoughts/feelings part, the weirdness of it us being together for so long at such a young age, even past the desire and ability to have that special person.
I just can't see it, but I am at the point where I know it is possible and to not shy away or back down from an opportunity...but also not hunting for it either.

I really appreciate you saying that and for your condolences. As hard as those memories can be sometimes, they are far outweighed by the joy I felt and in some ways continue to feel.

It's an illusion people can communicate openly about everything. I love her like I never loved someone before, but like in every relationship there are things where you're just not compatible - and also where things are unspoken. There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. I'm sure we'll stay together until death and I put up with the things I like less about her, just like she does with me.

 

There are exceptions, but for the most part I agree that people aren't always totally open with their partner. I think that it's not automatically a bad thing to not talk about absolutely everything, just as long as it's not something that grows into resentment, leaving both people bitter

 

I know of couples who are completely honest about their sexuality. They aren’t the norm but it does happen. They all say happy how they are. I soooooo wish I could have come clean and been completely honest with my wife. I truly believe she would have been horrified.

 

I know, we were one of those couples. One of the few benefits of getting together at such a young age is we grew together, and even though we were incredibly like minded, we matured and quickly learned that even the things that we differ on can be just as fulfilling in the relationship as the things we shared. I genuinely understand how much it must hurt you to have not told her everything, the regret and I imagine plenty of guilt based on your belief that she would have been horrified.
I can't speak to whether she would or wouldn't be obviously, but she could reacted in so many different ways...it's hard to say for sure no matter how well you know someone. Even I believe that
