I got mugged and kicked in the face several times last night by a group of black kids because I was drunk and not expecting it, yet I still don't feel racist sentiment, what's wrong with me?

Haha, I did learn that Raleigh is more dangerous to me than Chicago ever was for some reason though.



The funny part, my wallet was completely empty and I turned off the one debit card I had before they ever had a chance to use it.

That and I'm in good enough shape that I wasn't seriously hurt at all. Hell when it happened I was intoxicated enough I didn't even know what was going on until it was over lol

I just got up and had a smirk on my face as my friends who were across the street ran over to my defense, and the 5-6 muggers ran away like gazelles.

But yea, hopefully I'll make smarter decisions about where to be drunk in the future.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, I once had the misfortune of a couple of black guys trying to mug me, I was kicking the second one down the road when my friends arrived to stop me killing him, some people are fucking idiots and pick the wrong target.

Still a pity DL does not have your outlook on life, the forum would be a better place for it.

Yea for sure, I just keep wishing I wasn't drunk to the point that I was, so I could of fought back :/, but then again I probably wouldn't of made the dumb decision to be across the street from the bar in a not so well lit park if I wasn't drunk to begin with. So thinking that is pretty pointless.

I actually followed one of my friends (that I don't hang out with so much) over there to the park, I'm more mad at his black ass for being that dumb than the people who mugged me. Then the same friend insulted a completely different group of black people after we got mugged and insinuated that it was "probably their friends" who had mugged us and almost got us into another fight.

Also when both of us got mugged he went down in one shot, while I got kicked 5-6 times at least after I was pushed to the ground from behind (not that I remember exactly) and then after he started shit with the other group of people afterwards he immediatly ran away and left the rest of my group of friends to fend for ourself (and fortunatly we defused the situation without violence after he ran for it).

What I really learned is that it might be better to stop hanging out with that jackass lol

 

Luckily I was a young very fit soldier, well prepared to hit people hard and not care about the outcome the first guy who flashed a blade at me and demanded my wallet went down with one punch to his jaw, his less fortunate mate got a face full of forehead a knee in the bollocks and one in the face as he bent over, luckily my mates ran over and pulled me off of him because I had really begun to enjoy hitting him. I just wonder if they retired from the mugging game or decided to choose weaker targets. What surprises me is that it took place in Plymouth where 42 Marine and 29 commando Regiment are stationed, plus there is usually 3 or 4 navy ships in dock, to pick on a young fit looking guy is pretty stupid when you look at the demographics of who it could be.

No one asked me for my wallet so that is part of why I was unaware, but at least they also didn't use any weapons, just pushed me to the ground several guys kicked me and took my wallet before I knew what was going on. I think it was the numbers that helped do me in too

I just have a couple red marks above my right eye, and my nose was bloodied. Could have been worse. I was happy to find out I could take quite a few hits though, just because I haven't been involved in many fights at all.

Damn I already stopped smoking so I could be able to pass a drug test, and now this is making me want to stop drinking too, why does society have to ruin all my vices for me??

I am sorry to hear about what happened to you. If it is legal, I suggest you carry pepper spray or pepper foam. You may need to take a course to get a permit. Call the local police and ask about it. If it is legal in your area you can probably buy some at a gun shop.

Before something like this happens you are likely to think, "It can't happen to me." The first time it does happen you are likely to think, "This can't really be happening." After the second time you will probably think, "It might happen at any time."

Here is some more unsolicited advice. Try to avoid deserted areas. Violent street criminals dislike eye witnesses. Avoid the approach of young black men you do not know unless they are obviously working, or dressed for work or church. Cross the street; change direction; go back inside. If you are walking by yourself, look behind yourself now and then. A mugger likes to come up behind you and push you to the ground.

I have read a letter to the editor and a column by young black men who said it hurt their feelings that whites avoided them. It is better to hurt their feelings than to lose a few teeth.

Jesse Jackson has said,"There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery -- then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved." He feels that way. You shouldn't be ashamed to.

I am glad you were not hurt worse.

One more thing. Count your drinks. Five at one sitting is considered binge drinking.

I have been robbed at gun point and mugged. I know seven people who have been the victims of violent crimes. Two of the seven are black. The criminals always were black. Blacks have a murder rate that is seven times the white rate.

That is indeed what I said, and it is good advice to give to those who do not want to be crime victims. After all, young men are more likely to commit violent crimes than elderly women. Young black men are more likely to commit violent crimes than young white men. They are, in fact seven times more likely.

This website will give you the crime rates of various cities. According to it, Raleigh, NC is safer than 12% of cities. Chicago, IL is safer than 9% of cities.

Have some more unsolicited advice. When walking in a dangerous neighborhood, look at your reflection in windows to see if someone is following too close to you. This takes less time, and is less obtrusive than looking beyond you.

If it is legal in your area, think about getting a permit to carry a concealed hand gun. I used to think people who slept with hand guns under their pillows were cranks. Now it seems like a good idea.

Also, consider the possibility of carrying a stun gun.
